Accessibility

This site is written about accessibility, so it needs to hold itself to the same standard. This page sets out what that means in practice, what hasn't been checked yet, and how to tell me if something isn't working.

What this site does

• Plain language, sentence-case headings, and generous line height throughout
• No italics in quotes or callouts
• A skip link and proper landmark regions, so keyboard and screen reader users can jump straight to the main content
• Motion is kept to a minimum, and animations respect your operating system's reduced motion setting
• Analytics that work without cookies or cross-site tracking — see the privacy page for details

How it's tested

Automated accessibility checks run against every page as part of the site's test suite, using axe-core. Beyond that, I use a screen reader and other assistive technology every day, so this site has to work for me too — not just pass an automated check.

What hasn't been checked yet

This is a new site, and it hasn't been through an independent accessibility audit. If something doesn't work with your setup, that's a bug, not a deliberate choice — please let me know.
